I hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe! Here are some additional notes from Senora Peace regarding Spanish and from Beth Allison, Director of Youth Ministry, regarding daily planning practices.
Hi Religious Ed Families!
For some of you, how is day two (or week two) of full online school for your young people? My name is Beth Allison and I am the Coordinator of Youth Ministry here at St. Paul. Many of your teens know me as the lady who brings donuts to their classroom on occasion!
So much of our daily lives have changed due to COVID-19. These unprecedented times leave many of us trying to figure out how to adjust to a new normal way of life. The subject of time and how to use it well is on a lot of people's minds.
In an effort to bring some order to the chaos and borrowing some principles from Monk Manual (https://monkmanual.com/pages/covid19freeplanningpages), I created a daily planning sheet for teens in Microsoft Word. Initially I created this for our high school teens, but I thought it might be helpful for seventh and eighth graders as well. Print them out or keep them digital, whatever works best for you! (FYI formatting might look a little off when you preview on your phone, but fully open the doc and it should sort itself out.) What I tried to do is help young people structure their day while also bringing God into their daily rhythm. You will notice there are places for practical information as well as prompts to get them thinking about gratitude, prayer, and how they will help someone else. This is super important to remember in keeping a healthy life balance. Let's put soul back in productivity and planning!
Know of my continued support and prayers for you and your family. I pray a rosary daily for the families at St. Paul.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org. I also have additional resources on Mental Health and Anxiety for young people if needed.
