Quick Notes for this week:
- Sunday is the Winter Sports Mass at 10 a.m. Pancake Breakfast and team photos will follow immediately after Mass. Please wear red jersey tops over proper Church attire and bring full uniforms to change into after Mass. Breakfast cost is $5/person or $20/family.
- For anyone in the junior high, FOG is hosting a Glow Night tonight (Friday, 1/31) from 7-9pm. Those attending are asked to wear neon.
Religion 8: For class, we'll continue with Lectio Divina., applying it during our weekly Bible readings, and we'll also complete Ch. 18 in the Chosen book, concluding the lesson on how to pray and the benefits of praying.

Literature 7: Before beginning S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, we researched and presented on various topics related to the 1960s to better understand the culture of the time and references in the novel. We also spent time on Hinton's biography and how aspects of her life are infused in the themes, locations, characters and events of the novel.
For next week, we'll begin reading and discussing The Outsiders and delving into the workbook.

English 7: In class this week, we completed the grammar chapter on Verbals (participles, gerunds and infinitives) and will now prepare to take a chapter test next week. Students completed WB exercises 5.8 to 5.11 and also applied the concepts from the chapter into a skeleton story writing assignment.
For next week, we'll work on the chapter review Monday and Tuesday, review on Wednesday and will take the test Thursday.

English 8: During class this week, we reviewed for and completed the Ch. 4 Test on Verbs.
For next week, we'll move onto prepositions in the grammar book, first looking at single and multi-word prepositions (7.1) and troublesome prepositions (7.2). We'll also begin our next writing assignment, a Change in History essay. Students will have a day to research an event/decision and the results/consequences and then construct an essay about altering that decision.
